The other day, Rich was really craving a Rootbeer float. The only problem is that we didn't have Vanilla ice cream or Rootbeer. Rich decided to improvise and make up his own recipe. He found Cookies N' Cream Ice Cream and Apple Fanta and decided to mix them together in a cookie fanta float. STRANGE! In the end, he decided that it is better to just stick to Rootbeer Floats from now on!
It made me think of all of the strange combinations I have observed over the years...Here are just a few:
1. My dad had the classic mayonnaise and banana sandwiches.
2. A family favorite has always been saltines with peanut butter and marshmallows (microwaved to make the marshmallows puffy!)
3. In Holland, Rich learned that he liked Mayo on french fries.
4. In New Zealand, the kids I lived with put sprinkles on toast with butter or vegemite.
5. My brother-in-law Paul combined peanut butter and bacon
6. My dad's ice cream on his cereal (my dad's list could go on forever!)
7. Syrup on spaghetti (ELF)
8. Cinnamon Sugar Tortillas (not warm)
It is always fun to hear about strange combos. Any favorites of your own?

Peanut butter and bacon - ewwwwww! I'm not one for concoctions, but my boys love to make them - when they go out for slurpees, they put every kind in one cup - it's a glorious brown slush - uck!!!
Me - I don't even like my food to touch, let alone mix flavors of anything else - what can I say..... I'm boring :)
Do you guys remember when we made green waffles at midnight in Rich's old house at BYU. Mike doesn't really remember so I was beginning to wonder if I made the whole thing up... someone validate me
