Music Party

Since Parker loves playing his drum and other instruments so much, we decided to have a musical party for his first birthday. We celebrated by going to the park and having a picnic (with his favorite foods of course!) Parker loves fruit, meat, and of course birthday cake. I made a piano out of the sandwiches using white and wheat bread. He has definitely moved past the baby food stage this past week! We also made tambourines, played at the park, and played with musical instruments. Playing with the instruments was definitely his favorite part of the whole party! One funny thing about Parker is that he HATES the song "Happy Birthday." I don't know what it is, but every time we sing it, he starts to cry. He wasn't too excited about being sung to, but he enjoyed looking at the candle on his drum cake. Maybe he'll like the song by his real birthday! We really enjoyed having his first birthday party with his cousins!
