HALLOWEEN TAG!

I was tagged awhile ago with Halloween questions and I am finally getting around to it. I go in spurts with my blogging...so here goes:

What was your favorite Halloween costume as a child?
I don't know what I was thinking, but for some reason I wore the same costume 3 years in a row for Halloween...so I guess that this HAS to be my favorite costume. I wore my costume that that I wore when I was in the movie Saturday's Warrior. Maybe I thought that this made me cool because I was a "movie star." Each year, my costume was little different. One year, I called myself a fairy, another year I was the tooth fairy, and finally I was Tinkerbell. Seriously, I can't believe that I wore the same costume every year...but I LOVED it :)

I also REALLY loved my Alice in Wonderland dress. It was my very favorite. However, one day, I made my sister mad (probably for cutting her hair), so she cut my favorite dress. So, maybe that is why I moved on to be a fairy for the next 3 years :)

What was your least favorite Halloween costume as a child? When I was in 5th grade, I decided to be Peter Pan. Harmless, right? I thought so too until I showed up wearing the same costume as my teacher Mrs. Sansom. I was embarrassed because kids said that we had planned it (since I was the teacher's pet). Everything worked out, but it definitely was a little embarrassing!

What was your favorite Halloween candy as a kid?
Definitely Reeses. Every Halloween, we would come home and sort all of our candy. We would then proceed to try to trade candy with each other. Reeses were always coveted though.

Is it still your favorite?
My favorite candy now are WHITE reeses...not really a treat you get trick-or-treating very often. So, Reeses, kit kats, and twixes are at the top of my list. What can I say, I LOVE chocolate!!!

How old were you when you stopped trick-or-treating?
Well...I have actually gone trick-or-treating EVERY year of my life except last year. I did go to our ward trunk-or-treat last year though, so maybe that counts. I went with my friends all the way through high school. Some years, we would kneel on on our knees and beg for the free candy. I mean, really, who wants to give up this great tradition. Once I was out of high school, I managed to go trick-or-treating with my nieces and nephews every year. We also loved going to "Boo at the Zoo." I wasn't above getting candy at some of the houses :)
Do you miss it?
Well, like I said, I never really stopped. I'll tell you one thing that I DON'T miss though - I don't miss the cold Halloween nights...especially those crazy years when it actually snowed!

What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?
I am not easily scared by things that can't actually happen...monsters, witches, etc. These things have always seemed unrealistic to me and thus bore me. For example, I think that "The Ring" is boring, but I know a lot of people who were terrified by it. To me, scary movies are intense or more realistic ones. Probably one movie that I think is scary is "What Lies Beneath."

Have you ever dressed up in "matching" halloween costumes with your date?
We had a dance in High School called "Monster Mash." We would dress up the same as our group. One year, we started out as nerds and then decided that these Egyptian costumes were much cooler (thanks to Mikki's mom!). Another year, we were movie stars and bodyguards. My Senior year, we went as bikers...decked out in all of our Harley apparel. Besides that, I have never matched a date. It is my goal to get Rich to dress up one of these days :)

My family did dress up as Peter Pan characters one year and got a great picture (even though this may have been a bit much much for the older ones!)

So it's long over due but i love your hair!!! You are so brave...
My favorite halloween was when we lived in AZ. Mostly because I didn't have to wear a coat over my cute costume! It also went much faster because people would sit at the end of their driveway to pass out candy...(they also had coolers with drinks for the adults!!) I hope you have a gerat halloween. I think i will try to be domestic and make that pumpkin stew... it sounds really good!
