We missed our ward party because Parker was sick, so we decided to take him to see Santa at the mall when we were in Utah. Going 3 days before Christmas meant that we had to wait in a 45 minute line. Parker didn't seem to mind though. He loved holding onto the gate and looking at all of the decorations. He was very excited about all of the bright colors and large ornaments. Sitting on Santa's lap, however, was a different story. I was expecting this because he has been pretty wary of strangers - especially after seeing so many new faces in Utah. We put him on Santa's lap and he immediately starting reaching for Mom and Dad. Then, the tears started to flow. There's gotta be at least one Christmas where a child is afraid of Santa! Luckily, he was quickly calmed down when he was able to get off Santa's lap and have a candy cane. Better luck next year!
