My Mom

*Thanks Andrea for the digital picture which I took from her blog - I love this one!
Happy Mother's Day!

This day has definitely taken on more meaning now that I am a mother myself. I don't think that a day goes by that I don't think about my mom and how amazing she really is. I constantly wonder how she did such a wonderful job taking care of all 10 of us. A few years ago, she gave me a copy of the book called, "You're All My Favorites." It is a perfect depiction of how she makes us all feel. She always knows how to make me feel important and loved. She has a way of listening to what I say and even if it is something silly, she listens as if it is the best news in the whole world. She knows when and how to give advice, how to comfort, and how to share in my excitement.

My mom always knows what to do without being asked. Wether it has been helping me correct papers, cut out lamination, go out to lunch, go shopping, relaxing, playing with Parker, helping me clean up, reading my required reading to me in the car, quizzing me for tests, reading and editing my papers, making food for me (day and night), running errands with me, buying me treats for going shopping with her, talking on the phone, teaching me something new, driving to Arizona with me, staying with me when Parker was born, etc.

My mom has always been my biggest fan and greatest support! I could always count on her to be to my performances (and there were a lot - plays, concerts, dance, and piano recitals). She didn't just come once, but she would come to the play or musical every night. I could always count on my mom to come help at my elementary school, be there for every little award or ceremony, & support me in anything and everything I did. She has always believed in me even more than I believe in myself and taught me to go for my dreams. She has made my dreams come true (no matter the sacrifice). I've said this before, but I will always admire her dedication and sacrifices that she made so that I could be in "Saturday's Warrior." She drove me an hour each way to Orem for rehearsals and filming. She gave up a lot so that I could have this incredible experience. My mom has always known what is important to me and looked for anyway to make it possible.

There are so many more things that I could say about my mom. Most importantly, I love her. I love the example that she has set for me and the true friend that she is to me in my life. Some people say that your mom can't be your friend and mom, but I don't believe that. She is a wonderful friend and example! Happy Mother's Day!
