Dbacks and Prayers...

Our friend Scott came to town to check out a school down here in Arizona. He flew in on Saturday and stayed until Monday. We had a great time getting to catch up with him, go out to eat, and go to a Dbacks game. We even got Justin Upton bobbleheads at the game. We had a good time, but it was definitely a long game and Parker was very happy to finally get home. Don't get me wrong, he loves games and all but 3 1/2 hours is too long for most people! We didn't realize how much so until the next morning's prayer...

On Sunday morning, I let Parker say the prayer for breakfast. He always seems to catch me off guard with something that he prays about...usually his prayers include things like, "thank you for the food, thank you for the cereal, thank you for the milk, thank you for my toys, thank you for the spoon, thank you for the table, etc." Basically, he prays about whatever he sees around him. That morning, however, his prayer was a little different. After saying "thank you for Scott" about 4 times he remembered what he was really thankful for and continued to pray by saying, "Thank you that the game can be finished!" I had to laugh that even the next morning he remembered how happy he was for the game to be over...Kids really do say the funniest things!
