My Grandma took us all on a little tour over Thanksgiving (a smaller version of the tour I took a few weeks before). We had hoped to go to Judd's Store...a Thanksgiving tradition from growing up, but it was closed, so we walked around the corner to my Grandma's childhood home. It made me feel like my 39 guest for Thanksgiving was nothing compared to what it was like back in the day. They would have Thanksgiving in this small little home (now converted into a fabric store). They would feed the kids first and then send them to a movie while the adults enjoyed dinner and played rook.
My memories of Thanksgiving in St. George weren't of this little house, but of having dinner at a church. They finally outgrew the house and began having all of the guests eat at the church to accommodate everyone. We have continued in the traditions of going to the movies, playing rook, getting treats at Judd's store, going to the crack, enjoying the Sand Dunes, etc. We had so much fun recreating some of these priceless memories.
