Pop Goes the Parker

I did it to myself again. I went to the doctor this week for Parker's 1 year checkup. After the doctor asked me questions about things he could do, I commented on how he doesn't really pull himself up yet. Well, that's all I had to do - just mention it. It's as if Parker all of the sudden though - hmm, should I be doing that?! I came home and Parker was on a mission. First stop, pulling himself up in his crib. I put him down for his nap and then I heard some rustling. I peeked in and sure enough he was standing in his crib. He thought that this was great and did it a few more times. After that, he became more brave. He experimented with the kitchen chairs, the couch, the laundry basket, the floor lamp, and even the wall. He has had a few tumbles, but this kid things that he is pretty cool because he can get up by himself.

This has made naps a lot more difficult. I put him in his crib and "pop" he is up looking around for someone or something to play with. Over and over again, I have to go in an put him back down. So far it hasn't been very successful. He is just too excited about discovering this new ability to sleep! So, the moral of the story...if I really want Parker to learn something new, just mention that he isn't doing it and maybe, just MAYBE he'll surprise me! Just another fun adventure to experience as our little baby grows up!

Enjoy that Parker isn't pulling himself up to much or walk yet! Rhees was pulling himself up and climbing on things when he was 7 1/2 months and walking at 10! Now he's a crazy dare devil who thinks he's a big kid!
