Rich actually had a FULL day off with nothing that he had to do - no work, no school, no church, no meetings...an actual day off. That doesn't happen very often, so we were excited. His hopes and dreams for sleeping in were quickly dashed when Parker woke us both up at about 6:00. Rich managed to fall back to sleep for a little longer, but it definitely wasn't sleeping in. We then made sure to have a full day of fun. We played games and went shopping in the morning. Then, we went to lunch and miniature golfing in the afternoon with our friends. We wanted to play mini-golf inside because it didn't sound very fun to play in 117 degree weather. When we got there, we realized it was more of a kiddie miniature golf place than adults. Oh well, we stayed anyway. Basically all of the holes had large jungle animals on the green that you had to work your way around. Surprisingly, some turned out to be harder than you would have thought - they even required draping ourselves over the animals just to hit the ball.

We enjoyed playing some games (surprise, surprise), played a little x-box...Okay, Rich did and Parker had fun trying to get the controller. We finally gave him his own controller to play with and he was happy.

We ended the day with a great BBQ with a bunch of our friends from the ward. Stacy of course made everything look so beautiful (and taste great too). I guess that there is a reason she is going to culinary school! It was a great 4th of July.
