Biggest Fear: The electric pump & the garage. He hates loud noises and being left alone. It was so sad last week because I was deflating the pool with the pump and Rich and gone into the garage to get some garden supplies at the same time. Parker walked into the den and sat on the floor and cried because he was so scared. Once he was in our arms, things were so scary anymore!
Favorite Song: "If You're Happy and You Know it." He gets very excited when I sing this song and claps continuously throughout the song. It is so cute. He loves other music and likes to "dance," but this is his very favorite!
Favorite Non-Toys: The computer & mouse, the piano, the CD tower, the island cuboards, pots & pans, the office chair (to spin in), Mommy's phone, & his clothes (he loves to put them on his head!)
What he's doing now: SLEEPING (hence the reason I can blog...it isn't as easy to get on the computer anymore because he wants my attention.
Things Parker Mimics: Talking on the phone (he babbles away...does that mean I talk on the phone too much?!), playing with the computer, & reading.
Favorite Game: Sneaking up on people! This is hilarious because Rich will hold him and whisper that they are going to "sneak up on Mommy." He starts giggling and gets really excited. He loves this. He also loves to dog pile his Daddy!
Soothers: Parker has 2 important soothers that are necessary to fall asleep...his thumb and his tummy. He needs both because he sucks his left thumb and then rubs his tummy with his right hand. Once he had a onesie on and wouldn't go go sleep. I finally realized that the problem was he couldn't find his own tummy. Once I undid the onesie, he went right to sleep. Another time, there was a bandaid on his left thumb. He couldn't suck this thumb (and wouldn't resort to his right thumb)...after taking the bandaid off, he went right to sleep! Funny kid!
Favorite Places: Outside & in the car. He loves getting out. When he is upset, the best thing that I can do is get out of the house!
Mischevious Things he does: Throws his food when he is finished eating, plays on the computer, climbs on the couches & chairs to reach something, pulls the books off the shelves, & goes straight for open doors!
Least Favorite Things: Having his hands & face washed with a towel, being left alone in a room, loud noises, being woken up from a nap, & when his toys don't work like he wants them to. (He frustrates himself!)
Favorite Sounds: Music! He still loves to dance! He loves whispers, bells, instruments, & laughs.
Favorite People: These days, Parker is very interested in little kids. He loves looking at babies as long as their moms are around. He had a great time with all of his cousins in Utah and all of the kids we know down here! (He hasn't been to fond of all of the babies that I have babysat lately because they take his Mommy's attention...but if their Mom is there - they are great. He especially loves Baby Lance!) He obviously loves his Mommy & Daddy! Some other favorites are Angie & Morty - he always needs Morty to acknowledge him. Basically, he loves anyone who will pay attention to him. Last night at dinner, his favorite person was the person at the next table over. He just stared at him the whole time. I guess that he is really starting to like people more, but mostly from a distance. He loves ATTENTION!
Proudest Moments: When he climbs up on top of something like the couch or chair & when he walks. He finally decided that walking was better than crawling and walks all around the house. He's been taking steps for months, but just hasn't been interested in walking. After going to Utah, he finally got the courage and is now a WALKER! I love how he holds his hands above his head to walk. Gotta keep his balance somehow! We're just proud of him for finally walking!
Hair Color: BLONDE, BLONDE, BLONDE! Do you think that it will stay? I love this blonde hair...He started out red and is now blonde. Who knows what color it will end up! For now, I just love his blonde hair!
Best Features: I love his dimples & his smile. He gives the cheesiest little grin that melts my heart!
Sleep Schedule: Parker is a very good sleeper. He usually takes 2 naps a day and then still sleeps 10-12 hours at night. He usually wakes up at 7:30, but sometimes we are lucky and he sleeps past 8!
How Parker recharches himself: Parker needs his "cuddle time" with Mommy. Usually this means that he'll come climb to wherever I am and sit with me and suck his thumb for a few minutes. Then, he is ready to play some more!
Parker's Favorite Christmas item: The Christmas tree! He loves touching the tree, looking at the lights, and playing with the ornaments. Luckily all of our ornaments are Parker-friendly!
Well, there you have it! Our little man is 18 months...growing up so fast.

I love how you pay attention to every little detail in Parker's life. I need to do a better job of making lists like this for my kids! I'm also amazed at how many similarities Parker has to Wesley when he was that age. I guess that shows they're cousins!
That was fun to read. I had the "James at 2" blog started, but have yet to finish and acutally publish it. Aren't kids great?!? It amazes me how fast time flies.
you are so smart to write all this down--parker will love it some day. isn't blogging awesome on so many levels?
I love learning about Parker too. I think the little things he does are funny. Your friends are right, it's great that you write it all down.
It's hard for me to imagine Lincoln ever walking. He army crawls everywhere and still doesn't really pull up or stand up often. The doctor said he's a little behind, but oh well. I think he'll get there and it's nice that I don't have to chase him down yet.
Wow, that went so fast! I still remember visiting in the hospital when he was born!
He is getting so big and cute! I can't believe he sleeps so long..lucky you!
