On Christmas Eve, I kept all of the kids busy in the morning by making sugar cookies. We had a great time pouring the ingredients in (each of them was nicknamed a name based on the ingredient that they got to add...i.e. vanilla boy, sugar girl, etc.) We baked the cookies, added life savers to some of them for the stained glass look, & then frosted them.
That night, we let each of the kids choose one cookie that they had decorated to leave out for Santa. They each carefully picked the "perfect" cookie. Then, there was the debate over what drink Santa liked. In the end, the kids decided to leave Santa chocolate milk and egg nog. The reindeer were the most important part though...they needed their carrots. They even left extra carrots in case Santa brought more reindeer this year. Much to the dismay of his cousin Asher, Parker thought that it was more fun to eat the carrots and cookies than to leave them for Santa and his reindeer. Luckily, we brought out more to solve this problem. With cookies, carrots, and notes for Santa - the kids were ready for Santa to come.
