Christmas Day in Pictures

Christmas Day was very fun and we took it at the pace of a 2 year old. It lasted ALL day long! We went in to see our first presents about 8:00 in the morning and didn't finish opening our stockings until about 9:00 at night. It definitely was fun to make the magic last and let Parker enjoy playing with his toys one at a time.

The first toy that he went to was his fire engine from Santa. He hopped right in and began driving it around the house. Each time he would tell us that he had to "go to work." He would then hop in his fire engine and do a few laps around the kitchen. Eventually he would come back and decide he would be interested in something else...but then he had to go back "to work." (I guess he is used to that phrase because that is where Daddy always is!) At some points, he even insisted on opening the presents in his fire engine. Funny kid!

At some points, we would ask him if he wanted to open a present and he would say, "No, I'm finished." Then, when he was ready he would bring a present over and decide he wanted to see what other exciting things that he received! I also loved that when he opened some of the presents he would get very excited and say, "A box!!!"

Since then, he has throughly enjoyed all of his new fun presents that he got for Christmas. He always tells us who gave him the present and says, "they're nice!" We had a very Merry Christmas and have continued to enjoy it since. I think him getting new toys is just as much fun for me because it gives us new things to play with :)

Ohhh - love the slideshow and I think Parker's pj's are the cutest!!!!

I've been thinking about you a lot as we're working on this teacher situation at school and I want you to know how blessed I feel that H had you for his teacher in 3rd grade - you made a world of difference for him :) A good teacher can change the world for his/her students and their impact can be felt for years (same with a bad one, I guess....) and you were the best teacher at the best time for him. I'm so glad you put up with his homework challenged mom :)

Thanks so much for just being you - you're wonderful!!!
