Gingerbread Houses part 1

I love making gingerbread houses! We started this tradition 5 years ago when I was teaching school at Freedom Elementary. We had so much fun doing it with my students, that we decided to do it ourselves. This year, we let Parker decorate his own gingerbread house. He started by frosting the graham crackers, then adding the candy, and then we put it together again.

Each year, there is always some sort of new creation that we add. This year, the idea came from Parker. He wanted a car to be parked by his gingerbread house. Rich thought of a creative way to make "cars" out of wafers and dots. Then, Parker insisted that we all have cars for our gingerbread houses. {again, the obsession with cars!} It was fun to add some new features and I love the creativity. As always, we had a wonderful time.

Gingerbread houses are for eating, right?
