Christmas Morning

On Christmas Morning, we all gathered on the stairs before waking up my parents. (Again, the traditions from growing were a necessary part of Christmas - since this will be the last Christmas in my parents house!) We then let the kids run and jump on Grandma and Grandpa's bed to wake them up. We ate the traditional breakfast of cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for breakfast. Then, we went in one at a time to see the presents. The rule is that it goes youngest to oldest (to build up all the anticipation!)

I wasn't sure how Parker would react to his toys, but I was pleasantly surprised. He walked straight to his pile of toys and identified what he felt was the best toy - his bike. He immediately reached for it and worked to get it free so that he could go for a spin. He eventually got around to looking at everything else that Santa brought him, but the initial joy was in his little bike. It was so fun to see him be excited about his toys. I can only imagine how much more fun it will be in the future! This was a great Christmas because we got to share in the magic with his other cousins Wesley, Asher, Teagan, Joey, & Juliana!

Love the open belly pajamas. What a fun habit to tease Parker about when he gets older. Kent and I promise to tease Jack ruthlessly about his dependence on his blankie.
