Outdoor Play

The last couple of weeks, we have been going on a lot of outings and walks outside. We've definitely been trying to enjoy the nice weather before it gets TOO hot! Since I am behind again on my digital scrapbooking, I thought that I would give a little insight into some of the fun things that we have done:

PARK DAYS. We have gone to the park a few times. Each time, Parker gets a little braver with his climbing and sliding.

I took him to a different park and let him feed the ducks, which he LOVED. I showed him how to break pieces of bread and throw the bread to the ducks. He immediately caught onto this fun game and gave away all of the bread (and even some of his goldfish!)

Miniature Golfing: We went with a group of friends to Castles N' Coasters for some miniature golfing. They gave Parker his own golf club and ball. He slowly got the hang of hitting the ball with his club, but mostly just enjoyed having a BALL (surprise, surprise!).Playing in the Backyard: We have been spending a lot of time in the backyard trying to get it all cleaned up, mowed, weeded, etc. That means, Parker gets to play outside. He loves kicking his balls around, playing in the rocks, running around, and looking at the flowers. I love our backyard because it actually has grass and flowers (which you don't always get in Arizona!) It has been so nice for us to be able to be in this house so that we can have a backyard to play in as Parker gets older!
Going to the zoo: Rich took the day off school and we went to the zoo. Parker's very favorite part was seeing the goats in the petting zoo. He was able to pet them and brush them with the special brushes. Swimming in the pool: I finally blew up Parker's swimming pool and let him play in it in the backyard. He was totally scared of the air pump (something to do with loud noises like vacuums, air pumps, and blenders - he's terrified!). Anyway, after finally convincing him that it was okay, he started to get excited about his pool...espeically, when he saw the giraffe (part of the pool). He loved swimming in it, going down the slide, and getting in and out. There must be a sense of accomplishment of feeling so big or something. He even learned a new word that day, "giraffe." Since then, he has decided that he also loves his stuffed giraffe and now sleeps with it every night. We have a fun few weeks and loved having Rich join us on some of our exciting adventures :)
